Khalil Al-Wazir is a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at the University of Toronto, focusing on International Relations and Comparative Politics. His dissertation now examines United Nations Mediation in Internationalized Civil Conflicts. Previously, he earned an MA in Political Economy of the Middle East from King's College London and a BA in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics from the University of East Anglia.Khalil Al-Wazir has held various internships and research positions, including Political Affairs Internships with the United Nations Department of Peace Operations (UNDPO) and the Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). Throughout these internships, he worked on two reports of the United Nations Secretary General to both the Security Council (S/2022/280) and the General Assembly (A/75/246), and he was honoured with the UNDSS Under-Secretary-General's Excellence Award for his outstanding work. He has also worked as a Research Assistant at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and as an Economics Intern at The Portland Trust.Khalil Al-Wazir is the author of "Centrist Reflections on Political Philosophy." His expertise and dedication to understanding complex political landscapes, along with his recognized achievements, make him a valuable asset in the field of political science and mediation practice.
